The Tupolev Tu-154 is a three-engine jet airliner designed for medium-haul routes, with its first flight in 1968. It became the backbone of Soviet and later Russian civil aviation, and was widely used in other Eastern Bloc countries. Known for its rugged design, it could operate from unpaved runways. It also served with ČSA and the Slovak government fleet.
